Obituary for Rose A Mayerbock

With great sadness, our family announces the passing of our amazing Mother and Father: Rose and Joseph ‘Bud’ Mayerbock. Rose and Bud (“RoseBud”) were staples of Chicago’s Northwest Side community and were loved by so many. Together, they proudly raised three sons, Patrick (Gina) Mayerbock, Timothy (Amy) Mayerbock, and Sean (Kara) Mayerbock. They were loving and cherished grandparents to Scarlett Marie, Molly Rose, Debbie Rose, Timothy Joseph “TJ,” Macy Lee, and Maddox Jay Mayerbock. Rose and Bud were preceded in death by their oldest son Jay Mayerbock.
Joseph “Bud” Mayerbock age 70, beloved husband of Rose Mayerbock passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2020 after battling multiple health issues throughout the past few years. Bud served the community as a United States Postal Carrier for 35 years, delivering postage throughout the greater Mayfair community. Throughout this time, Bud developed and flourished countless relationships and bonds with families in the area and was remembered for his big smile and jovial personality. Additionally, Bud was known for his love and devotion to the St. Edward youth sports program. Serving as a coach for 12 years in multiple sports, Bud coached many children who passed through the St. Edward youth sports program and is remembered as a mentor and friend. Most of all, people who knew Bud knew how much he loved to talk about his three boys and his grandchildren. Bud never shied away from giving an update or showing a picture or 10. His love for family and friends, close and extended, near and far, was a priority, and he spoke of you all often.
Rose A. Mayerbock, age 66, beloved wife of Joseph “Bud” Mayerbock, passed away peacefully on February 5th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after a two-year unrelenting battle with an aggressive stomach cancer for which she fought with perseverance, strength, and faith. Rose was a vital part of our community and was loved by so many. Her cheerful and welcoming personality was truly unique as acknowledged by all. Rose is preceded in death by her brother Bob (Anna) and is survived by her brother Tom (Kathy); loving and supportive siblings forever. Rose worked as a crossing guard for the City of Chicago for 15 years, where many children who were able to experience the start their day with her warm smile and enthusiastic greeting. Additionally, Rose was an Administrative Assistant for the Alderman’s office of the 39th Ward for 20 years, where she quickly earned a “go-to person” reputation for the 39th Ward’s constituency. Anyone given the opportunity to meet Rose quickly discovered that her number one priority was being a Mother to her three boys and grandmother to all her grandchildren. Rose was the epitome of what a Mother should be and was a true role model to her boys. Rose was a beam of light to everyone who met her and left a lasting impression on all she encountered. Rose created a loving and welcoming home, always available for family and friends. She will always be remembered for making everyone in her presence feeling welcome and loved. Rose will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Visitation for Rose and Bud will be held Saturday, February 27th, 9:30 AM at St. Edward Church 4350 W. Sunnyside Ave. Chicago, IL 60630, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Per Roses wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital during the time of visitation.
