Obituary for Eve Katherine Fries

Eve Katherine Fries 10/3/2003 – 8/31/2021 Chicago, IL

It is with heavy hearts that Eve Fries passed away at home after a long illness. Her family was with her, which eased the transition to a better, more beautiful place. We will miss her dearly and daily. Eve was a beautiful, loving daughter to Kurt and Debby and an amazing older sister to Lucy. With every person she met, Eve taught us what it meant to be a fearless lover of life. Even in the toughest of times, Eve found the will to fight with everything she had. She never gave up.

In school, Eve was a gifted student, a trusted friend, and a tough, talented athlete. She loved life, country music, her golden boy Charlie and always, always the Cubs. No matter the occasion, Eve bounced into every room and lit it up every time. We can be at peace with the thought that she has rejoined her grandmothers in heaven, rolling out pizza dough with Pat, and learning the jitterbug with GG.

Eve is survived by grandparents Ronald DiPrizio and Patricia DiPrizio (deceased), Donald Fries and Mary Jane Fries (deceased) and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will continue to love her endlessly.

In lieu of flowers, you can honor Eve’s legacy in one of two ways:
The Cure Starts Now and their fight to eradicate pediatric brain cancer, especially DIPG. (thecurestartsnow.org)
beliEve field Established in Eve’s honor for the sole purpose of funding or refurbishing a softball field so kids can “beliEve" they can play and a neighborhood in need can thrive. (everloved.com/life-of/eve-fries)
